On the 1st of December 2010 the Malt Maniacs announced the results of their 2010 Whisky Awards. The 11 judges, from around the world, sampled 262 whiskies blind. The Malt Maniacs, a collective of whisky enthusiasts, have run their whisky competition annually since 2003. The Malt Maniac website attracts a staggering 10,000 whisky loving visitors every day.

Glenfarclas 40 Years Old gained a score of 90, winning one of just 12 Gold Medals. In addition the judges gave Glenfarclas their Thumbs Up award, for being ‘the most exciting new release in the Ultra Premium category’.
